American Geological Institute
Geoscience and Public Policy Student Summer Internship

The American Geological Institute seeks outstanding geoscience students with a strong interest in federal science policy for a 12 week internship. Representing the geoscience community in Washington D.C., the program actively works with Congress and federal agencies to foster sound public policy in areas affecting the geosciences. Interns will gain a first-hand understanding of the legislative process and the operation of executive branch agencies. They will also hone their writing and Web publishing skills. Interns are given a stipend through the generous support of the American Institute of Professional Geologists. There are also opportunities for Fall and Spring internships.

More information and how to apply is available at: www.agiweb.org/gap/interns/index.html

The American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG) was founded in 1963 to certify the credentials of practicing geologists and to advocate on behalf of the profession.

AIPG represents the professional interests of all practicing geoscientists in every discipline. Its advocacy efforts are focused on the promotion of the role of geology and geologists in society.
