Information and Guidelines for
Poster Presentations

·         One free-standing poster board will be provided for each presenter.  The size of the poster board is approximately eight feet (240 cm) long and four feet (100 cm) high.

·         Place the title of your presentation prominently at the top of the poster board to allow viewers to identify your paper easily.  Highlight the name and address information for each author so viewers can contact the presenter for more information.

·         Prepare all diagrams and charts neatly and legibly beforehand in a size sufficient to be read from a distance of six feet (2 meters).  Paragraph and figure caption text should be AT LEAST 24 point font (0.9 cm height) and headers AT LEAST 36 point font (1.2 cm).  Use different font sizes, styles, and color for emphasis where appropriate.  A serif font (for example, Times) is often easier for reading main text and a sans-serif font (such as Arial or Helvetica) for headings and figure labels.

·         Organize your presentation so that it is clear, orderly, and self-explanatory.  You have complete freedom in displaying information in figures, tables, text, photographs, and images.  The presentation must cover the same material as the abstract.  Do not clutter your poster with too much text.  Label different elements as I, II, III; or 1, 2, 3; or A, B, C to aid the reader to follow your presentation.

·         Provide an abstract, a background or introduction, the results, and the conclusions or summary.

·         The poster board has a white surface and will accept push pins.  Presenters should bring their own materials for attaching illustrations and sheets to the board.  Tables and chairs will NOT be provided for each poster display.  If a presenter has special needs, please notify David M. Best (David.Best@nau.edu) and place the words POSTER DISPLAY NEEDS in the subject line.

·         Posters can be displayed starting Sunday, September 21 at 4:00 p.m.  Posters must be removed by 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23. Authors are to be present at their posters from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Tuesday, September 23rd for the technical session for poster presenters. Poster presenters are also encouraged to be at the Welcome Reception on Sunday, September 21.

·         Conference organizers accept no responsibility for materials left behind, lost, stolen, or damaged.
