The World of Geosciences Today
The world increasingly turns to professionals
in the geosciences to tap the resources that are critical to
humankind. The world of geoscientists is a diverse community of
professionals that work to uncover and discover the resources
needed to sustain and enhance life and that contribute greatly
to each nation’s economy, environment, public health and
welfare.
Exploration and responsible development of
energy and mineral resources, and water resources, are a few of
the many contributions made by members of geoscience societies
to the well being of the world.
Who Will Attend
This convention will appeal to professionals
in technical, educational, regulatory, and legal disciplines.
The content of the convention will include technical sessions
addressing critical water issues, professional sessions dealing
with regulatory and educational concerns of the profession,
workshops, field trips of general geologic and cultural
interest, technical tours, social events, and a 7-day geological
raft excursion on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon.

international perspectives to the proceedings. Other geoscience
organizations supporting this conference include: National
Association of State Boards of Geology (ASBOG), Division of
Professional Affairs of the American Association of Petroleum
Geologists (AAPG-DPA), Association of Earth Science Editors (AESE),
